APPEARANCE

Bas is not exactly tall, but no one can deny that they aren’t BUFF! Bas has well-defined arms and core which were honed after years of heavy lifting. At the end of these muscled arms are long fingers and calloused hands that have only grown nimbler with time. Their legs are long and slender in comparison to their top half.

Their head is mostly shaven, save for several wavy locks in an undercut style. A lock of hair was dyed pink on accident. They have a smooth face with an angular chin where a cheeky grin always seems to rest. They’ve a long nose and their eyes are somewhat small and angular. When they can be spotted, Bas’s eyes are thunderously piercing, calculating…and typically distrustful. They are a cold sea green with amber flecks against their warm brown skin.

PERSONALITY

At first glance, Bas seems the picture of charisma. They are rarely seen without a smile on their face, they stand tall and confident, are polite, and always seem to be with something clever to say. However, their smile means nothing…truthfully, Bas probably hates you.

Bas is severely distrusting of others and exhibits virtually no interest in anyone else. Although they speak politely, they have already thought the worst of a person. They firmly believe that everyone wants something, and words are just a way to take it from others; so, Bas would rather anticipate this than be a victim of it. However, that doesn’t mean they’re two-faced—they’re just not aggressive. Bas is quick to set boundaries and even quicker to let you know it’s there; They’ll work with you, but don’t expect to share a drink later. They always say, or don’t say, precisely what they mean to, when they mean to…if you get confused or take their words for friendliness. Well that’s frankly your problem.

They’re typically level-headed and hard to faze, but in those rare moments when Bas truly loses their temper…it’s volcanic. Worse yet, Bas knows exactly what they’re doing, and they’ll do it without hesitation or regret. They are an unforgiving storm that you made the mistake of wronging.

Fiercely independent and stubborn, Bas keeps their eyes on the goal and is always striving to better themselves. They’re the clever sort who takes the phrase ‘working smarter’ seriously. In the little ways, or at least for the principle of it all, Bas does have something of an honorable heart…that they hide really deep behind their quick wit and venomous banter. Just because ‘everyone else’ is a lying backstabber, doesn’t mean they have to be!
…it also doesn’t mean they’re going to go out of their way for you either. Because you’re a ‘lying backstabber’.

On the off-chance Bas carries any true comradery or affection for you, you’ll find Bas to be far more relaxed and open. They’ll even fret over you and keep close attention to your likes or safety. Only a handful of folks have ever been able to know this side of Bas, and they’d rather keep it as such.

BIOGRAPHY

It’s ridiculous, really. Like something out of a terrible soap opera. The lengths one goes through to gain their father’s favor and snatch up corporate power…and completely fail at it. This failure ended with ‘Bas’ being born in secret, and locked away from the rest of the world. Despised, berated, hungry…Being so little, they didn’t understand what it was they had done so wrong. They tried to be good and smiled and smiled and smiled but nothing would appease the ire of that man. Bas snuck away when they were 11 to find their missing mother in hopes that love could be found after all. What Bas found instead was spite, scheming…and the fakest smile.

The next few years Bas did whatever it took to survive as a gutter rat. They stole, scavenged, lied, worked odd jobs…until the fateful day when Bas was unloading a truck at this small restaurant. They had caught the eye of the kindly husband, March Cyonnet, who was just aghast at how skinny this child was! He was insistent on cooking for them…it was absolutely suffocating how loud and disgustingly enthused he had been. And the stern wife, Piper, who barely said a word but was always watching! Then they offered them a place to stay; Bas had wanted nothing more than to run—they were surely planning something! It was the most terrifying point in Bas’ life. But time passed, Bas lived and worked at the restaurant and for the first time they felt...happy. Though the couple and their younger daughter, Rondo, consider them very much part of their family, Bas still has difficulty admitting to it.

A few years earlier, Bas was running an odd job for a friend of the family’s—a dragon stables manager, and in his care, was a certain loud and ill-tempered dragon. Against his warning, Rondo went to try and befriend the dragon. It ended…poorly. Rondo got hurt and the dragon got loose. Furious, Bas mounted the dragon’s back and began to wrangle with it. Hours passed, and the dragon could not spin, buck, or mag them off and thus they finally collapsed out of exhaustion! A newfound respect was forged and this dragon, Tempest, would then on become Bas’ closest companion.

I know this is very, very, very late. But I am loving this character! They're just so cool! I'm living for the Voice of the Dragon crew rn.
